
Biography
Born in Benfleet Essex in 1957, Simon Cooper graduated with 2:1 in Fine art at South East Essex College. Simon recently successfully exhibited in 2005 London for his graduate Final Year Show. Clerical Medical has purchased one of his abstract prints. He has been selected for ‘Platform 2006’ by Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery for upcoming graduates in East England.
His printmakings are expressive powerful colourful abstracts either mixed with traditional and or digital art based on a grid and manipulative response, partly due to his deafness and technology available and his Statement of Intent clarify his views. Simon completed a 3 year course in graphic and previously has been employed by graphic design consultants.
Jan 2007 – British Deaf Association, Deaf Arts and Film Festival at Institute of Contemporary Arts in London.
July 2006 – Private view of work at Cass Business School in London.
May 2006 – Workshop at Stour Valley Arts, Kent for one week.
March 2006 – 'Platfrom 6' Bury St Edmunds Art Gallery, Suffolk.
2005 – Successful Final Year Show Brick Lane, London.
2004 – Invited to exhibit his work at Deaf Arts Extravaganza in Brighton.
2002 – Public fiberglass sculpture display at Pitsea Library, Essex.
